WELD
SQUARE PRIMARY SCHOOL — ASBESTOS TILES
179. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Minister for Education:
I refer to a large area of broken asbestos tiles in two rooms
at the Weld Square Primary School and the Department of Education's
decision not to replace the tiles but to gaffer tape them down, which has to be
done monthly by a maintenance contractor. In answer to question without notice
1243 on 18 November 2014, the Minister for Education stated that the Department
of Finance's Building Management and Works would review the condition
of the tiles in early 2015.
(1) Can the minister confirm this review has now taken place?
(2) Will the minister release the review; and, if not, why
not?
(3) When will the replacement of these tiles occur?
