Minister for Forestry:
I refer to the government's
announcement on 8 September 2021 of the ending of most native timber harvesting
in Western Australia, and to question without notice 1130.
(1) Can the
minister confirm that processors have been receiving correspondence that
includes the expected level of log supply in the 2022 calendar year?
(2) How many such letters have been
sent to processors?
(3) For how many
of those processors is the volume indicated in 2022 lower than their contracted
volume?
(4) For each
timber processor who received such a letter, can the minister please provide
the contracted volume, the volume received in 2021 and the proposed volume for
2022?

sawmills have been advised that they will receive volume in 2022 equivalent to
the average of the previous two years of deliveries to their sawmill.
