I am not aware of what the Treasurer
had to say. I do not spend my day listening to or seeking advice on what people
say.
Ms
M.M. Quirk : That's right; you hardly talk to him.
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : How can we cope with such intellectual giants! The Treasurer
has just said to me that he did not say that. I think people are eagerly
awaiting the release of the Perth transport plan.
Mr
M. McGowan interjected.
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : I am answering the question. People are eagerly awaiting the
release of the Perth transport plan and I think they will be impressed, but we
will wait and see.
Several members interjected.
The
SPEAKER : Thank you!
Mr
C.J. BARNETT : That will be released during July and we will see what the
public reaction will be. There will be a lot of discussion about it.
With respect to Western Power, we
have been quite open that the government is considering that. We have also been
very clear and very proper in saying that no decision will be made on that
prior to the next election, so we have not made a decision on Western Power and
we will not be.
