(2) It's not necessary. Maternity patients at Kaleeya will have the necessary after?hours care provided by their own visiting Medical Practitioner or General Practitioner. The junior medical staff in the rehabilitation and surgical specialties are an additional resource for maternity patients and available to assist in the event or a maternal resuscitation or medical Emergency Team activation. There was no such emergency support at Woodside Hospital.
