EDUCATION ASSISTANTS — FIXED-TERM CONTRACTS
601. Hon SUE ELLERY to the Minister for
Education:
How many education assistants, by
year level, are currently on fixed-term contracts?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
As at 10 October 2013, 1 765
education assistants—by headcount—are employed on fixed-term
contracts with the Department of Education. It is not possible to provide the
information by year level in the time available. The department does not
allocate education assistants by year level exclusively, but also according to
need in terms of disabled children. The department will need to request the
data from all schools. I will provide the information as soon as possible. The
member does not need to put the question on notice; I will get the answer as
soon as I can.
