RIVER WATERWAY MANAGEMENT PLAN''
180. Hon JIM CHOWN to the minister representing the Minister
for Water:
I refer to the Vasse Taskforce's
revitalising Geographe waterways program and, in particular, the ''Lower
Vasse River Waterway Management Plan'', undertaken by the City of
Busselton.
(1) Can the minister please outline what funding the
state government has committed through the Vasse Taskforce to the ''Lower
Vasse River Waterway Management Plan''?
(2) What state
government funding has specifically been committed to sediment removal in the
lower Vasse River?
(3) Can the
minister outline what state government actions have been or are to be
undertaken in the lower Vasse River in 2019–20?
(4) What state
government agency has direct responsibility for the management of water quality
in the lower Vasse River?
(5) Has this role been formalised;
and, if so, by whom?

The following information has been provided by the Minister for Water.
(1) The amount was $170 000.
(2)–(3) Agencies
are providing support and advice to the City of Busselton as it prepares to
implement priority actions in the ''Lower
Vasse River Waterway Management Plan: May 2019''. This plan addresses
sediment issues in the lower Vasse River.
(4) Through the work of the Vasse Taskforce, the City
of Busselton has responsibility for the lower Vasse River.
(5) Yes, by the Vasse Taskforce.
