ALBANY BUSHFIRE — INJURED FIREFIGHTERS
1. 766. Hon SUE ELLERY to
the minister representing the Minister for Environment:
I refer to the dreadful fire at Two Peoples Bay on 11 October
2012.
(1) At what time were the Department of Environment and
Conservation firefighters injured?
(2) At that time, was the incident controller from DEC or the
local government authority?
(3) Prior to the incident, at what time was the last
meteorological information obtained?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1)–(3) The
Department of Environment and Conservation firefighters were injured
mid-afternoon. At that time the incident was under the control of the City of
Albany. The Minister for Environment does not propose to comment on the events
leading up to the incident until investigations by WA Police, WorkSafe, the
Fire and Emergency Services Authority and DEC are completed.
