BURSWOOD
STADIUM — COMPENSATION PAYMENTS
408. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to page 25 of the Burswood Park Board's 2012–13
annual report, which states that the government executed a deed of settlement
and release with both Golfwest Trading Company Pty Ltd and Klemap Pty Ltd as a
result of the new Perth Stadium development.
(1) What was
the total value of each of the deeds of settlement and release?
(2) What was the government's justification for
executing each of these deeds?
(3) On which date was each of these deeds paid?
(4) Did
Golfwest Trading Company Pty Ltd and Klemap Pty Ltd submit compensation claims
to the government?
(5) If yes to
(4), on what date and for what amount of money was each claim?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1)–(5)
The government agreed to compensate Golfwest Trading Company Pty Ltd and Klemap
Pty Ltd as a consequence of the decision to build the new Perth Stadium on the
Burswood Park Golf Course site. The government negotiated an agreed payment in
each case. The deeds of settlement include a confidentiality clause relating to
the terms of settlement. Compensation was paid to Golfwest Trading Company Pty
Ltd on 23 November 2012 and to Klemap Pty Ltd on 27 February 2013.
