REGION
1023. Hon ALANNA CLOHESY to the Minister
for Education:
(1) Can the
minister confirm that school psychologists in the North Metropolitan Region
have been informed that it is a requirement of their employment to have a
personal vehicle, and government cars will no longer be issued for school
visits from their host school to other schools within their area?
(2) Can the
minister confirm that there are no funds available for school psychologists in
the North Metropolitan Region to be reimbursed motor vehicle allowance claims
for travel from school to school?
(3) Can the
minister confirm that there are no funds available for school psychologists in
the North Metropolitan Region to be provided with any further professional
development, even though it is a requirement for registration under the
Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency?
(4) If no to (1),
(2) and (3), what additional restrictions have been made on school
psychologists' travel and professional development?
(5) If yes to
(1), (2) and (3), are there any other education regions where these conditions
are being imposed; and, if so, which regions?

(1) No. There has been no directive
to school psychologists from the region to this effect.
(2) No. There is funding available
for eligible school psychologists for travel of this nature.
(3) No. There is funding available
for professional development for school psychologists.
(4) The Department of Education's
school psychology service is not aware of any restrictions.
(5) Not applicable.
