(1) I refer to the FishCatchWA reporting tool, and I ask : (a) How many active users are there of this tool; (b) How many recreational demersal fishing licenses are there across WA; and (c) Can a breakdown of the following data be provided based on each bioregion, both in total figure and as a percentage per year: (i) Pink Snapper kept and released; (ii) Breaksea Cod kept and released; (iii) Dhufish kept and released; (iv) Baldchin Groper kept and released; (v) Red emperor kept and released; and; and (vi) Other demersal species kept and released? (2) How much funding is provided for data entry and upkeep of the reporting tool?

(1)       (a) FishCatchWA is a voluntary tool for reporting recreational catches of demersal scalefish in the West Coast bioregion. There are 383 active users of the FishCatchWA reporting tool.
(b) There is no recreational demersal fishing licence in WA.
(c) (i – vi) See attached Tabled Paper No xxxx for the number (figure and percentage) of demersal scalefish reported as caught or released per year in the West Coast bioregion in FishCatchWA on 26 February 2026.
(2)       $74,000 in annual funding is provided for upkeep of the FishCatchWA tool in the ServiceWA application.
