I refer to insurance companies currently approved by WorkCover WA to underwrite workers’ compensation insurance, and ask: (a) what is the name of all insurance companies currently approved to underwrite workers’ compensation insurance; and (b) on what date was approval given by WorkCover WA for each company to underwrite workers’ compensation insurance?

(a) The following insurers currently hold approval to underwrite workers' compensation insurance in the State of Western Australia:-
· Allianz Australia Insurance Ltd;
· Catholic Church Insurances Ltd;
· AAI Ltd t/as GIO;
· Guild Insurance Ltd;
· Insurance Australia Ltd t/as CGU Workers Compensation;
· QBE Insurance Australia Ltd;
· WFI Insurance Ltd;
· Zurich Australia Insurance Ltd; and
(b) Insurers are approved by the Minister for a five year period pursuant to section 161 of the
Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981
. Approvals are subject to a five year renewal process. Please see Tabled Paper No.
