With regard to the Government’s election commitment to conduct an independent assessment of treating large saline reserves east of the Darling Scarp:
(a) what has been the total expenditure relating to this assessment;
(b) to whom were these moneys paid, for what specific purposes were they paid and in which month was each payment made;
(c) what further costs are anticipated in relation to this assessment;
(d) has a report (whether preliminary, draft or final) been provided in relation to this assessment; and
(e) will the Minister table a copy of any such report?

(b) No one has been paid any moneys for any purposes in relation to an independent review to date.
(c) No further costs - beyond that budgeted of up to $250,000 for independent consultants - are expected in relation to the independent assessment.
(d) At this stage, no preliminary draft or final report has been provided in relation to this assessment.
(e) I will consider the report when the independent review is complete.
