parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
(1) Does the Liberal–National government support
Uber, the ride-sharing app?
(2) If yes to (1), will it change legislation to make it
legal in Western Australia?
(3) If no to (1), what action is it taking to enforce the
current laws?

The opposition's support for reform of the taxi industry as stated on
6PR last night is welcomed. The government is committed to sensible reform of
the taxi industry to benefit both consumers and drivers. The government encourages
innovation in the delivery of on-demand transport services, and is considering
policy options for integrating new technology and service delivery models into
the regulatory framework.
