Given the continuing concern regarding the environmental impact of dredging shells and from the Owen Anchorage, including the extreme difficulty in rehabilitating disturbed seagrass beds, what action does the Minister propose to take with regard to Cockburn Cement’s long-term dredging proposal assessed by the Environmental Protection Authority as Bulletin 1033 – Assessment No. 1300?

I have received a number of appeals regarding the EPA's Bulletin 1033 and am currently considering these in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act 1986. Once I have determined the appeals, I will then decide whether the project may proceed, and any conditions which should apply, in accordance with the Act.
