INFRASTRUCTURE WESTERN
AUSTRALIA
949. Mr V.A. CATANIA to the Premier:
I
refer to the Premier's commitment to legislate an independent
Infrastructure WA body, which the Department of the Premier and Cabinet's
website indicates will be established by late 2018. Given that the consultation
period closed more than eight months ago, why has the Premier failed to bring
legislation before the house as promised?

The government committed to bringing
in Infrastructure Western Australia. We have undertaken a consultation period
with the broader community of Western Australia. We received a range of
submissions and it is broadly accepted as a very good idea. It may well be that
it comes in. The process of establishing commences later this year or in the
new year, but we are not far away from making a significant announcement about
the matter.
