(2) Once the review of SCV’s impact upon the taxi industry is complete, both the taxi and SCV industries will be consulted. (3) & (5) Seventeen (17) formal applications have been received from existing operators since 9 March 2001 for additional vehicles, of which twelve (12) have been granted. During the moratorium additional SCV licences are being granted where it can be reasonably established that the purchase or modification of the vehicle was for the purpose of operating it as an SCV and commenced prior to 9 March 2001. (4) & (6) Twenty two (22) formal applications have been received from prospective new entrants to the SCV industry since 9 March 2001, of which seven (7) have been granted based on the previously mentioned criteria. (7) Preliminary advice has been provided by the Department for Planning and Infrastructure. I have requested that this information be supplemented. When this information has been provided to myself, I will be in a position to inform the house.
