(1) Does the Department allow prisoners or detainees to have access to the internet and if so: (a) At what prisons/detention centres can the internet be accessed; (b) How is access to the internet supervised/monitored; (c) Do prisoners have the ability to access web-based email services such as Gmail, if not how is that access blocked; and (d) Since 1 January 2017, how many times has a prisoner/detainee been found to have unauthorised access to the internet or a blocked site, and what was that site? (2) Does the Department operate a wireless network (WLAN, WiFi etc.) at prisons/detention centres and if so: (a) At what facilities do these networks exist; (b) Are these networks public or private or both; and (c) Do prisoners/detainees have access to these networks and if not: (i) Since 1 January 2017 how many times has a prisoner/detainee been found to have unauthorised access to the network?
