Mrs. Roberts asks the Premier to commit to tabling a report regarding a CCC investigation into the Commissioner of Police to ensure public confidence in any reappointment. The Premier states the CCC is independent and the report is not theirs to table, expecting the CCC to release it publicly.

COMMISSIONER
OF POLICE — CORRUPTION AND CRIME COMMISSION INVESTIGATION
340. Mrs M.H. ROBERTS to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Will the Premier commit to that report being tabled so that the public can have
confidence in any reappointment the Premier makes?

AnswerView source ↗

The CCC is independent of government. It is a report on an
investigation on both counts initiated by the CCC, not by the government, so I
do not know probably any more than the member does about it. It is not my
report to table. I would imagine that the CCC, when it concludes that report,
will provide a copy to government and release it publicly. That is what I
expect to happen.
