Amendments have been made to the Police (Fees) Regulations 1981 and now provide the Commissioner of Police with the ability to reduce, waive or refund fees.
In conjunction with the Office for Seniors Interests and Volunteering (Department of Community Development) the Police Service introduced a program on the 1st July 2003 which enables approved organisations working with volunteers to be provided with a criminal history check of a proposed volunteer at a reduced fee of $10.
