DEPARTMENT OF WATER — FLOWTHROUGH TRIALS —
COLLIE RIVER
632. Hon SALLY TALBOT to the minister
representing the Minister for Water:
I refer to the reference on page 654 of budget paper No 2, volume 2 , to the department pursuing
action to sustain healthy water-dependent ecosystems. What scientific research
and/or analysis is underway by the Department of Water or state
government-appointed contractors on flowthrough trials in the south branch of
the Collie River; and when will any such reports be made public?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
None. However, the Department of Water monitored water
quality, fish communities and hydrology in the south branch of the Collie River
during 2015 for Edith Cowan University, which is undertaking a research project
in the area. Public release of the research is a matter for the university.
