The Rock Lobster Management Advisory Committee has met Ten times:
1 July 2005; 11 November 2005; 8 February 2006; 13 June 2006;

The Abalone Management Advisory Committee has met Five times:

The Purse Seine Management Advisory Committee has met Once:

As a general rule this particular MAC has only met when there are a sufficient number of issues to discuss or if there is a particular issue that the department needs to take to the committee in order to affect a management change.
The management of the Purse Seine fishery is fairly static at the moment.Quotas are set at conservative levels to ensure sustainability, but relatively low industry activity means that the quotas (with the Exception of Albany) are not being exhausted by the end of the season.
The Demersal Gillnet & Longline Management Advisory Committee has met twice:

As a general rule this particular MAC has only met when there are a sufficient number of issues to discuss or if there is a particular issue that the department needs to take to the committee in order to affect a management change.
The shark fishery has just undergone a major review in response to sustainability concerns. A number of the recommendations made by the MAC, which I have approved are in the process of being implemented. The MAC will most likely convene when the new management arrangements have been finalised.
