(1) Can the Minister state how does the Department of Mines and Petroleum inspectorate ensure on regular and frequent intervals, that that the loadrite internal on board weighing system or similar system on all of the trucks at KCGM has been independently calibrated and checked for accuracy, to ensure that the trucks are not being overloaded beyond the design capacity for extended periods of time?
(2) If no to (1), why not?

(1)
The trucks at KCGM utilise a Caterpillar system known as VIMS which is an electronic information management system.
The Department does not verify that onboard weighing systems are independently calibrated.
There is no specific requirement under the
Mines Safety and Inspection Act
or Regulations for independent checks to be made on such systems
.
(2) Not applicable
