CHILD DEVELOPMENT
SERVICE
530. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Leader of the House
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the answer provided to
question without notice 501 asked yesterday regarding the metropolitan Child Development
Service and the minister's statement —
The McGowan government has invested
an additional $406.4 million in non-hospital services in the 2023–24 state
budget.
Of the $406.4 million, how much
additional funding has been specifically allocated to the MCDS in the 2023–24
financial year to address the wait times currently being experienced to access
these services?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some
notice of the question.
There is $73.6 million provided
across the system to address an increase in cost and demand across the system. This is inclusive of the metropolitan Child
Development Service. The government is looking forward to considering the
recommendations of the Select Committee into Child Development Services when
its report is tabled.
Hon Donna Faragher : So you
haven't increased funding. A yes or no would be helpful.
The PRESIDENT : Order!
