INDEMNITY INSURANCE — QBE
640. Hon MARTIN PRITCHARD to the minister representing the
Treasurer:
I refer to page 507 of budget paper No 2, and the $28.88 million
expense for 2015–16 under ''Home Indemnity Insurance''.
(1) Is QBE Insurance a recipient of any of that funding?
(2) If yes to (1) —
(a) how much will QBE receive; and
(b) when was the decision made to
pay this amount?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of the question.
(1) Yes; QBE
will receive payments for administering and issuing home indemnity insurance
policies and claims.
(2) (a) The
expense outlined in budget paper No 2 is an estimate of total HII claim payouts
for the year, as well as costs that would be paid to QBE and Calliden for
administering and issuing HII policies.
(b) Not applicable; refer to
(2)(a).
