(1) I refer to the level crossings on the Fremantle line, and for each, I ask: (a) How long was the level crossing closed for each day in the prior 12 months; (b) How many times did the level crossing close on each day in the prior 12 months; and (c) How many vehicles passed through the level crossing each day in the prior 12 months? (2) I refer to all level crossings in the Perth metropolitan region, and I ask: (a) How many level crossings are there for each category: (i) Pedestrian; and (ii) Vehicle; (b) Within 500 metres of each level crossing, how many traffic accidents have been recorded in the prior 12 months; (c) For which level crossings are early stage proposals for their removal being prepared; (d) Which level crossings have had a business case made for their removal; and (e) Which level crossings have had funding committed to be removed?

(1)        On average:
·         the Jarrad Street level crossing closes 145 times per day for a cumulative 237 minutes.
·         the Salvado Street level crossing closes 136 times per day for a cumulative 189 minutes.
·         the Victoria Street level crossing closes 145 times per day for a cumulative 256 minutes.
(2)        There will be 18 vehicle level crossings remaining on the network following the completion of the METRONET program of works. 15 vehicle level crossings have been removed as part of METRONET.
There will be 53 pedestrian level crossings remaining on the network following the completion of the METRONET program of works. 23 pedestrian level crossings have been removed as part of METRONET.
The PTA is developing a business case to prioritise, identify and analyse potential investment options for the proposed removal of the 18 remaining vehicle level crossings.
