PRINCESS MARGARET HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN —
MEGAZONE
884. Mr R.H. COOK to the Minister for
Health:
I have a supplementary question. Can the minister confirm whether his
new model involves removing the staff who have given years of dedicated service
to the Megazone? Can the minister therefore confirm that he is not removing
these staff from the Megazone?

AnswerView source ↗

I have not had any particular discussions about staff in relation to
the Megazone itself.
Mr R.H. Cook : What have you got against sick kids?
Mr J.H.D. DAY : What have you got against those who are
trying to provide contemporary, sustainable health care for children in Western
Australia? That is the question that needs to be answered!
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Thank you.
Mr P.C. Tinley interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for Willagee, I call you to order for the first time.
Mr J.H.D. DAY : No-one, apart from members of the
opposition, takes seriously the suggestion that we are not providing good
health services to children and everybody else in Western Australia. That is
being demonstrated through the $7 billion rebuilding program that has been in
place; it is being demonstrated through the new Perth Children's
Hospital and right over Western Australia. There is simply no credibility in
the claim of the opposition in relation to criticising us for the health
services that we provide. Everybody knows what has been done and what is being
delivered.
