STANDING COMMITTEE ON
PROCEDURE AND PRIVILEGES — FIFTY-FIFTH REPORT —DEPARTMENT OF
THE PREMIER AND CABINET
863. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I refer to the Legislative Council
Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges fifty-fifth report and the
Premier's contemptuous refusal to supply information in answer to my
questions regarding his knowledge of the Department
of the Premier and Cabinet's director general and acting director
general's dealings with the committee.
(1) Why does the Premier refuse to
provide the information sought?
(2) Is it because
he is concerned that it will implicate him as complicit in the potential
contempts of Parliament, the subject of the report?
(3) In the spirit
of respect for and accountability to Parliament, will he reconsider his
response to my questions of 15 August and now provide the information sought?
(4) If no to (3), why not?
