As part of a joint Commonwealth-State initiative, the State Government allocates approximately $6 million for group training organisations to encourage employment of apprentices and trainees in skill shortage occupations; from under-represented groups; and in remote regions.
Aboriginal people are one of the key target groups of the program and attract a total of $3,000 in employer incentives based on commencement and completion.
The Commonwealth Government also provides a range of employer incentives for apprentices and trainees.
