(2-3) The Shire advised that it was having difficulty with the presentation of the budget in the required format due to a staff issue. A local government is not able to issue its rate notices until it has adopted its budget for the year. The Department has advised that it is not aware of any other financial issues at the Shire and any temporary cash flow problems are usually dealt with by local governments through appropriate credit arrangements.
