I thank the member for some notice
of the question.
(1)–(2) Since
2010, the Ngari Capes and Camden Sound Marine Parks have been announced under
section 13 of the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984. Regulations to
gazette fishing restrictions, consistent with the zoning scheme within the
marine park management plans, have not yet been gazetted.
(3) Fishing
restrictions within the Ngari Capes and Camden Sound Marine Parks cannot be
introduced until the respective marine park management plans have been
finalised and approved by the Minister for Environment. Notices under section 62
of the CALM act to give effect to the zoning scheme for those parks are
required before regulations to gazette fishing restrictions mirroring section 62
notices can be prepared. It is anticipated that gazettal for fishing
restrictions can take effect soon after completion of the section 62 CALM
notices.
