Referring to the Premier’s media statement of July 26 2004, in relation to the draft proposals for Ningaloo Marine Park, is the Minister aware that -
(1) The intent of the Department of Fisheries submission to the proposed extensions to the Ningaloo Marine Park, has been misrepresented to the Coral Coast Parks Advisory Committee (CCPAC)?
(2) The concerns raised by the Department of Fisheries, in relation to the proposed extensions to the no-take areas in Ningaloo Marine Park, were not responded to by CALM as part of the consultative process, or as part of normal procedures?
(3) The submissions provided by the Recfishwest and the West Australian Game Fishing Association were not weighted by the submission assessment process to reflect the numbers of constituents of these organisations?
(4) It is proposed to extend the inshore no-take zones seaward and to prohibit the take of pelagic migratory species, such as spanish mackerel and tuna, from these waters under the draft Ningaloo Marine Park plan?
(5) The MPRA rejected the CCPAC recommendations for modifications to the Ningaloo Draft Management Plan as well as the recommendations of various stakeholders?

The Department of Conservation and Land Management and Department of Fisheries have had extensive discussions on the proposal.
