(a) Minister Logan's Chief of staff contacted the Chief of Staff of the Acting Minister by phone at 5:00pm. The Acting Minister was then briefed at 5:20PM in Minister Logan's office.
(b) Minister Logan was first informed by the Chief of Staff by phone at 7:21PM AWST and made the decision at that point to return immediately to Perth.
