August 2013 announcement of the introduction of the long service leave levy on school
staff, what is the current projection of how much that will generate in savings
in the school calendar years —
(a) 2014;
(b) 2015; and
(c) 2016?

(1) (a) Approximately
$15 million. The actual amount will be calculated following the February 2014
student census.
(b)–(c) This is subject to
future budget processes.
(2) Central
office, regional office and school staff have been, or will be, advised to
clear a minimum of 70 per cent of accrued long service leave by the end of 2014
when the current accrual is greater than 65 days. Secondary teachers and school
administrators have been advised to clear a minimum of 70 per cent of accrued
long service leave by the end of 2014 when the current accrual is greater than
65 days. Primary teachers and school administrators will be advised to clear a
minimum of 70 per cent of accrued long service leave by the end of 2015 when
the current accrual is greater than 65 days.
