The Minister Replied:
(1) This figure mentioned was as a preliminary estimate given from South Australia with reference to expenditure for its support of TPV holders.
In Western Australia, the State is still investigating a means to identify specific costs at departmental level and will provide a report to all agencies to assist them in identifying the costs of services provided to Temporary Protection Visa holders.
(2) (a)& (b) Unaccompanied minors receive social work support from Family and Children's Services which identifies and ensures practical and other support in areas such as safe, secure accommodation, material assistance to provide clothing, household goods, education expenses and support with medical/social issues. Unaccompanied minors have access to mainstream schooling in government schools.
Assistance is provided on request when family groups approach a local Family and Children's Services Office based on an
assessment of need.
