Note: Statistics may exclude additional firearms found or seized by WA Police that have been unable to be linked to an individual stolen property item.
The response shows firearms that have been recovered regardless of the year of recovery. Consequently, the number of recovered firearms will continue to increase across all years in future reporting.
WA Police have recovered additional firearms since the date of this question – these are not included in the provided statistics, as ongoing work is being carried out to determine the status of all recovered firearms.
(d)   The WA Police Force continues to work with Law Enforcement and Industry partners to explore efficiencies and capabilities to continually improve safe keeping standards to reduce the prevalence of firearms being stolen and assist in the recovery of those reported stolen (or unlawfully possessed).
(e)    The WA Police Force endeavour to recover all stolen or unlawfully possessed firearms.
