(1) The Minister for Fisheries' office regularly meets with Recfishwest and WAFIC on a range of issues; which, sometimes involve allocations between commercial and recreational fishers for a wide range of fish stocks including western rock lobster. (2)Several issues are discussed including that of cross sectoral trades in allocations. Cross sectoral allocations play an important role in contemporary fisheries management practices. The discussions have revolved around the theoretical notion of such trades. No commitments or agreements have been made, nor contemplated, at this time.
