609. Hon LYNN MacLAREN to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the review cited in question without notice 6 asked on 17
February 2016 in regard to the felling of the king jarrah in the Roe 8 road
reserve in January.
(1) Has Main Roads completed its review of the process that led to the
king jarrah being felled?
(2) If yes to (1), will the minister give
details of the improvements that were identified and the degree to which these
have been implemented?
(3) If no to (1), why not and when will the review be completed?

(1) Yes.
(2) Improvements identified include improving
the process and level of documentation from private sector property management
agent for requests, approvals, and quality control—that has been
completed; improving the internal process for environmental review and approvals—that
has also been completed; and, reviewing and verifying vegetation management
program on acquired properties, including environmental approvals—that
has been commenced.
(3) Not applicable.
