MRS DEBORAH BENNETT-BORLASE, SUPERANNUATION ENTITLEMENT
I refer to the minister’s answer to a question I asked last Thursday regarding superannuation for magistrates. The question is to the minister representing the Attorney General and to him in his capacity as the minister in charge of state superannuation. (1) In view of Mrs Deborah Bennett-Borlase’s actual age, as opposed to her stated age, will the minister assure the House that Mrs Bennett-Borlase - (a) did not take advantage of the capacity for magistrates to double their contributions between the ages of 45 and 55; (b) if she did, that she did not take advantage for more years than she is entitled to; and (c) that she will not receive superannuation entitlements beyond those to which she is lawfully entitled? (2) If the minister is unable to give these assurances, will he advise me of the action the Government - (a) has taken prior to last Thursday; (b) has taken in the meantime; and (c) intends to take in the future to protect superannuation funds and with respect to Mrs Deborah Bennett-Borlase? Hon TOM STEPHENS
