parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to questions without notice 308 and 359 regarding
overhead wires on the Fremantle line.
(1) Did anyone
from the overhead team conduct any visual inspections of the lines from inside
the driver's cabin of any railcars in the weeks prior to the incident?
(2) If yes to (1), were they looking at any particular
concern or problems?
(3) If yes to (2), what was the concern or problem?

(1) Yes, a cab inspection took place on 18 March 2014.
(2) There was no
specific issue, although it was noted that the Public Transport Authority has
overhead teams doing maintenance on each line on a continuous basis and
equipment is replaced when required.
(3) There was no specific concern.
