CARBON FARMING —
PASTORAL LEASES
1473. Hon DIANE EVERS to the Minister for Agriculture and Food:
I refer to the report on consultants
engaged by government for the six months ended 30 June 2019, specifically page 4
and the engagement of Ernst and Young for $132 000 for an economic analysis on
carbon farming and carbon farming methodology.
(1) Has the report been finalised?
(2) If no to (1), when will it be
completed and will the report be publicly available?
(3) If yes to (1), will the minister
please table the report; and, if not, why not?
(4) When will the
Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development update its bulletin
and webpage, given that both are currently based on an economic analysis
completed in 2013–14?

completed.
(2) It is
anticipated that the final report will be complete in late December 2019 and
the intent is to make it available publicly. I will be happy to arrange a briefing
for the member if required.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) The webpage will be updated
following finalisation of the report.
