CORONAVIRUS —
BUSINESS SUPPORT PACKAGES
171. Hon
Dr STEVE THOMAS to the Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the Premier's
drip-feed announcement on 4 March 2022 that he will be changing the qualifying period
by two weeks for the level 1 and level 2 business support packages.
(1) Will the
Premier undertake to compare a business's pre-COVID turnover to its
lockdown turnover for assessment in support package eligibility?
(2) Will the
Premier now commit to the fair and sensible measure to allow businesses to
compare the average of their 2018 and 2019 turnovers to their lockdown
turnovers to accurately reflect the genuine impact of the government's
imposed restrictions?
(3) If no to (2),
why not?

I thank the
member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(3) The
support packages are designed to assist businesses with the level 1 and level 2
restrictions announced on 18 February 2022 and 28 February 2022 respectively.
