(1) Is the Minister aware that Western Australia is the only State that has not implemented interstate travel concessions?
(2) Will the Minister advise of a date when Western Australian Seniors Card holders can expect to take advantage of interstate travel concessions?
(3) Are Seniors card holders from other states now able to access Western Australian travel concessions; and
(a) if not, why not; and
(b) if so, what concessions are they eligible for?

(1) No.
(2) Western Australian seniors can already take advantage of concession fares in other States, as the other States have accepted the funding offer from the Commonwealth which included compensation for the proportion of Western Australian seniors anticipated to use public transport in their jurisdiction. The fact that other States now accept interstate seniors cards is acknowledged on their public transport websites.
(3) No.
(a) I have recently met with Minister Macklin on this matter and the negotiation between the State and Federal Governments is continuing.
(b) Not applicable.
