Again, my understanding of the processes that were broadly
wrapped around Fiona Stanley Hospital was that Treasury was involved in this
project from when I was Treasurer the first time, and is still involved. We
have a much more robust governance framework around Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Importantly, that governance and the learnings are being applied to the new
children's hospital. I think members opposite forget that within a
couple of years at Fiona Stanley Hospital, the new children's hospital,
Midland, Busselton, Albany, Port Hedland and Karratha, the people of this state
will benefit from the largest single investment in health infrastructure that
we have ever seen, an investment that will be the backbone of health service
delivery in this state well into this century.
