With regard to the re-merger of Verve and Synergy, I ask —
(1) Did the Liberal party in Opposition support the Labor Government's decision in 2006 to disaggregate Western Power into the four entities of Synergy, Western Power, Horizon Power and Verve?
(2) If yes to (1), why?

, the Liberal Party supported the legislation when it was introduced. Support for the legislation relied on a number of factors, all of which were articulated by various members at the time. I note that the then Labor Government indicated to the people of Western Australia, and the Liberal Party, that disaggregation would bring about a reduction in electricity prices. That proposition was a significant factor in the Liberal Party's decision to support the legislation.
