1149. Hon Dr Steve Thomas to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Treasurer:
This question was
asked on 23 June 2025. It is C522. I refer to the failure of key agencies and departments
to keep their recurrent spending within 2% of their approved expense limits in
the 2024–25 financial year, and as at the 24 June 2025, I ask the
following.
(1) How many government agencies or departments
have exceeded the 2% variation threshold of their 2024–25 approved
expense limits?
(2) What agencies or departments have been
identified as exceeding the 2% threshold of their approved budget?
(3) In financial terms, what is the cumulative
budgetary exceedence of the aforementioned agencies or departments?

honourable member for some notice of the question and provide the following
answer on behalf of the Treasurer. This answer was correct as at 25 June.
(1)–(3) Indicative outcomes are contained
within chapter 3 of budget paper No 3. Final outcomes will be reported in the Annual Report on State Finances .
