❓ Dr. Constable's parliamentary question seeks data on teacher vacancies in WA government schools across various subjects. The response provides vacancy numbers for Mathematics, Science, and Design & Technology in Senior and District High Schools, but lacks specific data for Chemistry, Biology, Physics, LOTE subjects, and 'other' roles due to data collection limitations.

(a) Mathematics - see table below. (b)-(d) Schools list multiple teaching areas for science vacancies therefore it is not possible to give separate data for Chemistry, Biology and Physics. For example, a school will list a full time vacancy requiring the matched teacher to teach lower school science, biology and physics. (e) Science - see table below. (f)-(h) Data for LOTE vacancies can not be provided. The complexities of LOTE positions, where many of the appointments are made from a cluster of schools means the placement of teachers is a manual process and the teacher can be held against one school but teach in three. (i) Design and Technology - see table below. (j) Other - Data cannot be provided. These appointments include GIR (Getting it Right), BMAD (Behaviour Management and Discipline) and other specifically funded project appointments. All of these appointments are not confirmed as of 31 January of each year.
