I refer to town planning appeals, and ask - (1) How many appeals were lodged with - (a) the Town Planning Appeal Tribunal; and (b) the minister between 12 February and 30 June 2001? (2) How many of those appeals lodged have been decided by - (a) the Town Planning Appeal Tribunal; and (b) the minister? (3) Of the decisions made, how many have been upheld and how many have been refused by - (a) the Town Planning Appeal Tribunal; and (b) the minister? I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1) (a) 62. (b) 159 ministerial appeals. (2) (a) 24. (b) 37. As at 31 October 2001, the minister had dealt with 204 appeals in all, most of which had been lodged with the previous minister. (3) (a) The breakdown of the 62 appeals lodged as at 31 October 2001 is as follows: 17 upheld, seven dismissed, 17 withdrawn by consent of parties. (b) 22 upheld or upheld in part, 12 dismissed, nine withdrawn, three incompetent. (4) (a) As at 31 October 2001 - 60. (b) As at 31 October 2001 - 61 ministerial appeals.
