I refer to page 1196 of the Communities budget for 2007-08 listing outcomes, services and performance information. (1) What is the reason for the decline in the “Extent to which policies and practices of public sector agencies reflect the principles of multiculturalism” line item from 83 per cent in 2005-06 to a target of 75 per cent in 2007-08? (1)-(2) The 75 per cent figure is the target figure, and the actual figure is based on an independent survey carried out on behalf of the Office of Multicultural Interests. Over the past four years the actual figures have exceeded 75 per cent. The actual figures over the past four years are 77.4 per cent for 2003-04, 85.75 per cent for 2004-05, 82.53 per cent for 2005-06 and 84.9 per cent for 2006-07.
