In relation to the Bringing Them Home Report (Report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from their Families) which made recommendations in 1997, and the State’s Government’s role in implementing recommendations relating to it -
(1) Would the Minister advise what the State Government has done in relation to monitoring and auditing the implementation of the Bringing Them Home report?
(2) Would the Minister advise who or which agency in the State Government is responsible for carrying out monitoring and auditing?
(3) Has the State Government contracted with any independent consultant to monitor implementation?
(4) If no steps have been taken in relation to (1) and (3), why not?

2. Western Australia’s Jurisdictional Justice Plan, developed in response to the Ministerial Summit on Aboriginal Deaths in Custody held in July 1997, provides the framework for monitoring outcomes in Aboriginal affairs. Implementation of many of the recommendations of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from their Families will be monitored through the Jurisdictional Justice Plan. The Justice Coordinating Council (JCC), comprising Ministers and Chief Executive Officers of agencies with justice related responsibilities, has responsibility for progressing development of the Jurisdictional Justice Plan. 3.
