WUBIN
BYPASS
1188. Hon DARREN WEST to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Transport:
I refer to the Minister for TransportXXX ###XXXs
answer to question without notice 1165.
(1) What exact steps have been taken to mitigate the impact
on local businesses in Wubin?
(2) Will these steps involve
appropriate signage for tourists who may no longer travel through and stop at
Wubin as a result of the bypass?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the
honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) Intersections that provide access to
Wubin will be designed to accommodate RAV10 vehicles, allowing all vehicles to
be able to enter Wubin to make use of the facilities or businesses. Due to the
reconfiguration of the current intersection, opportunity exists to improve
street parking in the vicinity of the Liberty roadhouse, although street
parking in the vicinity of the BP roadhouse is considered adequate. The road
train assembly area will remain in operation and will serve as a rest facility
and staging area for trucking operations.
(2) Service signing
will be provided.
